Drive West on I-10 towards Los Angeles. Turn South on Arizona Highway 85. Drive through Gila Bend, Ajo, and to the border at Lukeville, Arizona.

From Tucson

West on Ajo Way (Arizona Highway 86) to intersection with Arizona Highway 85 at Why, AZ. South on AZ Highway 85 to the border at Lukeville.

Cross the border at Lukeville into Sonoyta, Sonora (ordinarily crossing the border is hassle free). Continue to the first stop sign.

Bear left at the first stop sign, continue over the bridge and look for an overhead sign to Puerto Penasco - the road here veers to the right.

Travel South on Sonora Highway 8 to Puerto Penasco. The road signs are in kilometers. One kilometer equals 5/8ths of a mile. Puerto Penasco is approximately 96 kilometers or 60 miles from the border.

The border into Mexico is known as a "Free Border". You do not need a passport to enter.
